Mission
Our mission is to enrich and educate students with Islamic values while providing learning experiences that are developmentally age appropriate (preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary). We promote the growth of the whole child including academics, social skills, and emotional growth.

It is our goal to help students foster a positive identity as an American Muslim.  We arm our students with the skills necessary to succeed in tomorrow's world by integrating academics, Quranic wisdom, and ethical behavior.  We believe the combination of these fundamentals implemented into each classroom will make a positive contribution to the global community.

Philosophy
The educational philosophies guiding Al-Ridah Academy include

  • Provide students with a high academic program.
  • Emphasize the process of learning with positive reinforcement.
  • Enhance students' understanding of the Quran through instruction in the Arabic language.
  • Build positive characters and promote essential life skills to enable students to become contributing citizens of a global community.
  • Instill universal values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and self discipline and encourage students to demonstrate these values through their actions.
  • Inspire students to become God-conscious leaders guided by justice, driven by ethics, empowered by knowledge, and supported by logic.
  • Instill a commitment to social responsibility and justice while upholding personal rights and ambitions.
  • Generate an atmosphere of mutual trust, respect, and appreciation within a diverse student body and the community at large.
  • Nurture a learning environment in which the unique gifts and personalities of students are discovered and valued.
  • Promote high self esteem through academic achievement and social awareness.
  • Incorporate critical thinking, analytical reasoning, effective self expression, and healthy interaction with peers and adults.
  • Initiate a lifelong love of learning by applying a stimulating, hands-on curriculum.
  • Allow students the space to develop at their own pace.
History
In September of 2000, Al-Ridah Academy opened its doors to the Orange County Islamic Foundation (OCIF) community. With only 12 students, 1 Administrator, and 2 teachers, Al-Ridah began its early years of formal Islamic education. Today, Al-Ridah has grown into a student body of 75, a parent body of 112, 12 teachers, 3 Assistants, 3 Administrators, and a growing community of Muslims in Mission Viejo and its surrounding area.

Facility
The charm of Al-Ridah Academy extends far beyond the warm embrace of teachers; it is evident in the unity of the building as a whole. Parents and students congregate each weekday morning to recite Surat Al Fatiha and offer a special dua in the main assembly area. Announcements keep the close knit community briefed on what exciting events are coming to the school. Students share their Islamic education openly in front of the entire school and grade levels break into their respective classrooms.

Students' days are infused with language arts, English and Arabic, mathematics, science, history, social sciences, physical education, history, and Quranic studies. Each school day ends with an opportunity for students to choose the after school activities that are appealing to their natural talents.  Whether it is Monday Art Club or Wednesday Chess Club, students expand their horizons of growth every day at Al-Ridah Academy.
